LEDES XML E-Billing Version 2.0 Overview
The LEDES XML E-Billing Version 2.0 format was approved by the LOC membership in 2006 as an update to the LEDES 2000 standard. This standard changes the invoice math statement from LEDES 2000, includes the ability to itemize complex taxes, bill alternate fee arrangements, credits and debits on a matter, supports multiple vendor tax identification numbers, eliminates non-mainstream e-billing data elements, is consistent in the use of terminology and contains elements necessary to support international currencies.
The documents posted here include modifications ratified by the LOC membership in 2008. With the ratification of XML E-Billing Version 2.1, the XML E-Billing 2.0 standard has been retired and will not be modified by the LOC again.
